Is the iPhone XS discontinued?
The iPhone XS was discontinued on September 10, 2019, in line with the launch of its successor, the iPhone 11 Pro. Apple is estimated to have shipped 9 million units of the XS during its lifespan, making it less popular than the X. This was in part due to the launch of the lower-end iPhone XR the same year.
Is the iPhone XS still worth it?
The iPhone XS was discontinued in 2019 so it’s not that old. It’s pretty much futureproof thanks to its A12 Bionic processor and 4GB of RAM, and it has important features like IP68 water resistance, wireless charging and Face ID. It’s good value for money compared to the 11 Pro and a big upgrade over the X.
Is iPhone XS or XR better?
Released at the same time, the iPhone XS was Apple’s flagship mid-sized iPhone of 2018, while the XR was Apple’s lower-end mid-sized iPhone of 2018. The XS has a superior OLED display and a better camera. The XS also has smaller bezels around the display. Side-by-side, the XS is noticeably more premium and nicer to use.
Should I get iPhone XS or 11?
The iPhone XS was discontinued in 2019 and succeeded by the iPhone 11, which is a technically superior iPhone in some (but not all) ways. The 11 has a 12MP front camera versus the 7MP unit in the XS and it is powered by the faster A13 Bionic chip, but the XS has a nicer OLED display, whereas the 11 has an LCD.

The iPhone XS has an IP68 water resistance rating, which means it has been tested to a maximum depth of 2 metres up to 30 minutes. It also has the maximum dust protection rating of “6” on the same scale. You can’t swim with an iPhone XS, but according to Apple you can safely get it wet in the bath or shower.
Should I buy the iPhone XS in 2020?
It might have been released back in 2018, but the iPhone XS is still a fantastic buy in 2020. This is testament to the quality of the handset. It is considered as a lower-end model, yet it packs the same A13 Bionic chip as the top-end 11 Pro, so it’s just as fast and fluid to use.
