Android app of the day – InstaWiFi

InstaWiFi makes your life much easier

You’ve all been in this situation: You have friends or family over at your house and someone needs to connect to your WiFi. Now you have a few choice, either hand over a piece of paper with the network key, head over to the modem and read it out or enter it for them, none of which are ideal.

Now you wish there was an easier way for others to connect to your home WiFi. Well now there is with an app called InstaWiFi which allows a person to either tap an NFC tag (that’s if they have an NFC-capable phone) or scan a QR code.

It’s simple, all you need to do is open up the app, enter your network SSID and network key, and just either write it to an NFC tag or QR code. That’s it, there’s no need to run around looking for the WiFi network key.

If you have rooted your handset, the InstaWiFi will automatically dig into your network settings and take out all of the information that it needs so there’s no need to manually type in the SSID and network key.

Overall, this app is definitely worth checking out.
