BitMonster Games – Former Epic employees are making an iOS game

BitMonster Games is a newly formed, independent game studio made up of six former Epic Games employees (The ones that brought you the awesome Gears of War trilogy for the Xbox 360).

Commanded by veteran Lee Perry, the senior gameplay designer on Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3, they are currently focused on creating a mobile game. Currently they are creating a game called Lili, for iOS devices including the Apple, iPod Touch, iPhone and the iPad. The title uses Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 game engine which makes the game look stunning with its 3D graphics and cool environments.

Perry said in an interview,

“Epic has been extremely supportive of our new studio and in helping us build the game of our dreams,” he continues to say, “We set out to create an adventure that is appropriate for nearly anyone. As a designer, it’s exciting to see that the Unreal Engine 3 tools are better than ever, and they provide everything we need to achieve a gratifying and imaginative experience.”

The game, ‘Lili’ is an adventure role-playing game that focuses on a female character called Lili (hence the name of the game) who meets crazy characters and explores beautiful environments on the mysterious island of Geos. As Perry wanted it to be a game that everyone can enjoy, the game focuses on a ‘non-combat’ system to deal with enemies but no further information has been revealed yet.

The game is in its final stages of production but no release date has been confirmed.
