Don’t you just hate sticking out your hand on busy road trying to get the attention of taxi drivers or even calling and waiting for a taxi? No need to worry anymore, the taxi app for London and Dublin allows you to hail a cab wherever and whenever.
Hailo has been something of an overnight success since its launch towards the end of 2011. The idea is simple and is a great way in which Londoners can use the handheld Android and iPhone devices in actual, real world, day to day situations.
Like we said it’s simple: don’t stand there on the street and wait for a passing taxi, just open up the app and summon one from a map showing how far away registered drivers are from you.
The best thing about Hailo is that you can pay by card for all journeys, with no hidden charges.
The only downside is that it is best to hail a cab before standing on the street which means you’re not faced with the dilemma of waiting for the one you’ve just hailed electronically or grab the one you can see in front of you as it happens to drive past.
Anyone in London for the Olympics should seriously download a copy of this app while you’re there.
The app is fantastic and is hopefully the start of a bright future for the service.
