Android App of the Day – MightyText allows you to send texts from your computer

MightyText allows you to send messages using your PC

So you’ve forgotten your phone at home or work and don’t have the time to run back and get it? As long as you have access to a computer and internet then you’re in luck.

With MightyText you can send and receive text massages normally as you would do with your own phone. MightyText is similar to iMessage but it’s for Android, it’s a really good way to stay in touch with friends and family if you’ve forgotten your phone at home or work.

Before you decide to forget your phone make sure you have installed this app on your android phone. Once it’s downloaded open it up and type in the Google account you wish to use and then press complete set up (on the next screen you will need to grant permission to the app). Next, all you need to choose whether you’re going to access MightyText on your computer or tablet.

Some things to point out if you’re using a computer, Google Chrome and Firefox allows an extension so you can add this feature on the computer but if you’re in a rush and don’t have time then you can use the Web browser. If you’re on Mac, you’ll need to install Growl notifications.

Tip: If you’re using the Web User Interface go ahead and check the settings. You’ll be able to sync your Google contacts so names will pop up automatically and you’ll also be able to send Multi Media Messages.

There you have it, send and receive your texts from either phone, web browser or both. Remember, you’re using your own phone number so will be that same as using own phone.
