Sony Tablet S Review

Sony Tablet SMore than two years behind the iPad and Android tablets the Sony Tablet S is the first tablet from Sony. Sony has looked at the tablet market and taken a novel approach by announcing this New Tablet. Here’s a short review for you.

Straight off the bat you’ll notice the wedge on the back of the tablet which is designed to offer a better grip for example, when you hold the tablet vertically it feels natural like a folded magazine and a gives a better viewing angle when placed on a flat desk.

The design of the tablet is arguably, the first of a next generation of Android tablets. The Sony tablet has a 9.4-inch touch screen with 1200×800 resolution. Running 1080p videos the tablet delivers a deeper black and brighter colours. The motion is steady and the image is very sharp.

The tablet S runs on Android 3.2 also known as Honeycomb and comes in 16GB or 32GB sizes, with 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor which keeps things moving at speed. It also has a 5-megapixel rear camera with a VGA front facing camera.

A neat little trick of the Tablet S is that it allows you to control non Sony Blu-ray players and TV’s which means you can have a giant, next-generation remote control as the centrepiece of your coffee table.

For Android users and home entertainment purists the Sony Tablet S is a must buy. The Sony Tablet S is best for film, games and music – it’s basically a multimedia tablet and we guarantee you won’t see a sharper screen or a better looking Android tablet on the market.
