The latest version of Android also known as ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) has been out for a while and is now available for the Galaxy S2.

Instead of going deep into the settings menu, a quick little shortcut can help you adjust the brightness. By holding your finger on the status bar at the top of the screen you can increase or decrease the brightness, simple.
To get access to the test functions of the phone, Dial in *#0*#. It’s not of much use but you can check if your pixels are functioning and a bunch of letters and numbers.
Go into the keypad on the phone and ‘type’ the name, in 90s retro style. For example, to bring up Julia just press in 58542.
Forgot to warn someone that they’ve missed an ingredient out when they go to the local shop? If you look back to the screen when you finish a call, you’ll see that you have the option to redial, video call or send a text to the person you were talking to.
Slide to Call or Text
While on the contacts screen you can slide to the left on a contact to immediately place a call or slide to the right to send a text.
Screen Shot: To take a snapshot of the screen press the home button at the same time as the power button and your image should appear in the gallery.
Task Manager: Hold the home button for a few seconds and you will be taken straight to the task-manager.
Search: The Galaxy S2 comes with only two android buttons alongside the home button but there’s no search button to be found. All you have to do is hold the menu button on the left and a button for search should appear.
Screen-Lock for Video: Want to watch long videos without the phone going to sleep then press the power button and you can lock the screen on, press it again, and it’ll be unlocked.
It works on most of the Galaxy’s widgets but all you need to do is hold on to the widget then release without moving it, and you should see a frame work appear letting you stretch and adjust the widget.
