Samsung Topple Apple as Galaxy S3 Pre-Orders Reach 9 Million

Samsung Galaxy S3The Galaxy S3 smartphone has reportedly received pre-orders reaching up to 9 million from over a 100 global carriers including Bell, Mobilicity, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, Virgin, WIND, and Videotron.

An unidentified Samsung official said the company’s smartphone factory in South Korea was running at its full capacity of 5 million units per month.

It took the Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 between 2-5 months to reach these levels but if the reports are true then Samsung Galaxy S3 will blow past the previous Galaxy S devices and will help Samsung get to their target of selling over 200 million smartphones in 2012.

The Galaxy S3 will go on sale on May 29 in Germany before being rolled out to other countries.
